art Williams was born in Grand Island, Nebraska during a blizzard, between a lunar eclipse and a solar eclipse. Six months later, he was moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, and, four years later to

Laramie, Wyoming, where he was a Boy Scout and played the viola. He completed boyhood and prepared to enter high school.

His family thence moved to a farm town in Kansas, then to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he graduated. He attended university in Fort Worth, Texas, and moved, in 1976, to Hollywood, California, where he wrote for newspapers, magazines, radio, books, television and film through the seventies and eighties.

He returned to Kansas for a short time, moved back to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and then took the Oregon Trail to Eugene, Oregon, where he has lived for the past thirteen years.

His jokes tend to be a little obscure.

When he is not writing, he is -- in his secret identity -- opposing the forces of darkness, aided by the Mystery Rangers. Their identities are also secret.

His wife, Jayne, is a science fiction author. They have a cat.

2006 marks Hart Williams' thirtieth year in the second-oldest profession.
